DRYING TIPS

INDOOR DRYING

To dry silk, chiffon and crepe garments place them between two towels to soak up the excess moisture, then hang the garments on a hanger indoors to dry naturally.

******

To save money and the environment invest in a good quality clothes airer.

******

When hanging thick garments such as knits or denims on a clothes airer make sure you turn them to speed up the drying process.

******

OUTDOOR DRYING

Always hang clothes inside out as this will limit colours fading due to direct sunlight.

******

Peg marks on your clothes are unsightly and very hard to iron out. To make them less noticeable place the pegs in a less obvious place e.g on the under arms of the garment.

******

MACHINE DRYING

(I do not recommend the use of a tumble dryer as they are expensive to run, harmful to the environment and damaging to your clothes. But there is no denying that sometimes they are very useful)

Be certain to check garment labels before using a tumble dryer - you don't want your best sweater to end up 2 sizes too small.

******

Remember the fewer items you put into the dryer the faster your laundry will dry.

******

Check the cycle regularly to avoid over drying even if you have a sensor type of machine as some items maybe dry before others.
